Mother Bell Universal Entertainment, LLC or M-B-U-E is an entertainment company based in Houston, Texas. MBUE was established in 1999 by CEO and Founder Joseph Washington who named the company and fashioned the company’s logo after his mother who nurtured an appreciation for music, the arts, and creativity hence MBUE’s motto “Nurturing the growth of entertainment.” The company was started when Joseph decided to produce a CD on behalf of less fortunate people and give a percentage of the CD sales to some local charities and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). The CD titled “In Their Shoes” was the inspiration and is the name of MBUE’s foundation “In Their Shoes Foundation.” In 2004 Joseph welcomed the addition of longtime friends Demetria Glover and Akil Houston as business partners.
Today, MBUE encompasses a Songwriting and Music Production Company, a Fashion company, and a charitable foundation. Under MBUE’s Songwriting and Music Production Company named Minds on Music Productions the company released its first jingle for a local company that aired on KMJQ Magic 102.1 FM in September 2004. Minds on Music Productions is also working on several CD projects that will be available in 2005. Also, in 2005 MBUE is planning to officially launch its first clothing lines under its Fashion Company named Forest View 9306. Forest View 9306 will provide various lines of creative and stylish apparel for both men and women. Since the release of MBUE’s first CD in 1999 MBUE has continued to help local charitable organizations such as the Star of Hope and the Houston Food Bank by volunteering year in and year out through its “In Their Shoes Foundation.”
Going forward, the entertainment industry and fans of good song lyrics, music, and fashion can expect MBUE to make a big impact in 2005 and in many years to come. MBUE has been an admirer of many of the companies in the entertainment industry that have woven music, fashion, charities, and other businesses and organizations together to become well respected and admired around the world and now MBUE would like to follow in this tradition with an approach that it continues to cultivate and perfect for all of the world to hear and see.
